The Campsite or the Cabin

Xander and Nasrin drive to the lake for the weekend. They stop at the entrance and look at the map.

Xander e Nasrin dirigem até o lago para passar o fim de semana. Eles param na entrada e olham o mapa.

"We can camp by the water," Xander says. "Or we can rent a cabin," he says.

"Podemos acampar perto da água", diz Xander. "Ou podemos alugar uma cabana", ele diz.

"The campsite is a good price," Nasrin says.

"O acampamento tem um bom preço", diz Nasrin.

"But rain comes tonight," Xander says, and checks his phone.

"Mas vai chover à noite", diz Xander, e olha o celular.

Nasrin looks up at the gray clouds above the trees. "A cabin sounds dry and warm," she says.

Nasrin olha para as nuvens cinzentas acima das árvores. "Uma cabana parece seca e quentinha", ela diz.

"Let's just get the cabin this time," Xander says.

"Vamos ficar com a cabana dessa vez", diz Xander.

They drive to the small row of wooden cabins. The owner gives them a key for cabin four. Inside, there is a bed, a stove, and a window.

Eles dirigem até a pequena fileira de cabanas de madeira. O dono dá a eles a chave da cabana quatro. Dentro, há uma cama, um fogão e uma janela.

Rain starts to fall. They light the stove right away. They sit by the window and watch the drops fall.

Começa a chover. Eles acendem o fogão na hora. Eles se sentam perto da janela e observam as gotas caindo.

Nasrin makes tea on the little stove. Xander opens a bag of cards for a game.

Nasrin faz chá no fogãozinho. Xander abre um baralho de cartas para jogar.

Outside, the campsite tents sit empty in the storm.

Lá fora, as barracas do acampamento ficam vazias na tempestade.

"We made the right choice," Nasrin says, and laughs. They play cards and listen to the rain all night.

"Fizemos a escolha certa", diz Nasrin, e ri. Eles jogam cartas e escutam a chuva a noite toda.
