Remy and his friend ride to the lake every Saturday. The road is long. It is a nice road. The sun is warm.
Remy y su amigo van en bicicleta al lago todos los sábados. El camino es largo. Es un camino lindo. El sol es cálido.
They ride past fields and small houses. They sing a silly song. Remy has a bag of apples on his back.
Pasan junto a campos y casitas. Cantan una canción tonta. Remy lleva una bolsa de manzanas a la espalda.
Halfway there, the sky turns dark. A cold wind comes. Then the rain starts.
A la mitad del camino, el cielo se oscurece. Llega un viento frío. Luego empieza la lluvia.
It is very heavy rain. The boys cannot see the road. "Quick, over there!" Remy says. He points to a small bridge.
Es una lluvia muy fuerte. Los chicos no pueden ver el camino. «¡Rápido, allá!», dice Remy. Señala un puentecito.
They run with their bikes under the bridge. Their shoes are wet. Their hair is wet too. They both laugh.
Corren con sus bicicletas hasta debajo del puente. Tienen los zapatos mojados. También tienen el pelo mojado. Los dos se ríen.
The rain is loud on the stones above them. Water runs down the road. The boys sit on the ground and eat the apples.
La lluvia suena fuerte sobre las piedras encima de ellos. El agua corre por el camino. Los chicos se sientan en el suelo y comen las manzanas.
"Maybe we go home," his friend says.
«Quizás deberíamos volver a casa», dice su amigo.
"Let's wait a little more," says Remy.
«Esperemos un poco más», dice Remy.
After half an hour, the rain stops. The sun comes out. The boys walk out from under the bridge.
Después de media hora, la lluvia se detiene. Sale el sol. Los chicos salen de debajo del puente.
At the lake, a turtle sits on a big rock. It looks at them and does not move. Above the water, there is a rainbow.
En el lago, una tortuga está sobre una roca grande. Los mira y no se mueve. Sobre el agua hay un arcoíris.
The two friends look at it for a long time. Then they pick up their bikes and ride on.
Los dos amigos lo miran un largo rato. Luego recogen sus bicicletas y siguen su camino.
