The Ride to the Lake

Remy and his friend ride to the lake every Saturday. The road is long. It is a nice road. The sun is warm.

Remy dan temannya bersepeda ke danau setiap hari Sabtu. Jalannya panjang. Jalan itu indah. Mataharinya hangat.

They ride past fields and small houses. They sing a silly song. Remy has a bag of apples on his back.

Mereka melewati ladang dan rumah-rumah kecil. Mereka menyanyikan lagu konyol. Remy membawa sekantong apel di punggungnya.

Halfway there, the sky turns dark. A cold wind comes. Then the rain starts.

Di tengah perjalanan, langit menjadi gelap. Angin dingin datang. Lalu hujan mulai turun.

It is very heavy rain. The boys cannot see the road. "Quick, over there!" Remy says. He points to a small bridge.

Hujannya sangat deras. Anak-anak itu tidak bisa melihat jalan. "Cepat, ke sana!" kata Remy. Ia menunjuk sebuah jembatan kecil.

They run with their bikes under the bridge. Their shoes are wet. Their hair is wet too. They both laugh.

Mereka berlari menuntun sepeda ke bawah jembatan. Sepatu mereka basah. Rambut mereka juga basah. Mereka berdua tertawa.

The rain is loud on the stones above them. Water runs down the road. The boys sit on the ground and eat the apples.

Hujan berbunyi keras di atas batu-batu di atas mereka. Air mengalir di jalan. Kedua anak itu duduk di tanah dan makan apel.

"Maybe we go home," his friend says.

"Mungkin kita pulang saja," kata temannya.

"Let's wait a little more," says Remy.

"Kita tunggu sebentar lagi," kata Remy.

After half an hour, the rain stops. The sun comes out. The boys walk out from under the bridge.

Setelah setengah jam, hujan berhenti. Matahari muncul. Anak-anak itu berjalan keluar dari bawah jembatan.

At the lake, a turtle sits on a big rock. It looks at them and does not move. Above the water, there is a rainbow.

Di danau, seekor kura-kura duduk di atas batu besar. Ia memandang mereka dan tidak bergerak. Di atas air, ada pelangi.

The two friends look at it for a long time. Then they pick up their bikes and ride on.

Kedua sahabat itu memandanginya lama sekali. Lalu mereka mengambil sepeda dan melanjutkan perjalanan.
