Both students studied hard the night before. They wanted a good grade on the test. Neither one wanted to be late.
दोनों विद्यार्थियों ने पिछली रात ख़ूब मेहनत से पढ़ाई की थी। वे टेस्ट में अच्छे नंबर लाना चाहते थे। कोई भी देर से नहीं पहुँचना चाहता था।
Farah checked the exam schedule on the wall. It listed Room 4 for her math test. She walked there at nine o'clock.
फ़राह ने दीवार पर लगा परीक्षा का कार्यक्रम देखा। उसमें उसके गणित के टेस्ट के लिए कमरा नंबर 4 लिखा था। वह नौ बजे वहाँ पहुँच गई।
Dario checked the same list. He read Room 9 for the math test. He walked to Room 9 instead.
डारियो ने वही सूची देखी। उसने गणित के टेस्ट के लिए कमरा नंबर 9 पढ़ा। वह इसके बजाय कमरा नंबर 9 में चला गया।
The school changed the room that morning. The new list hung by the office door. Farah did not see it.
उस सुबह स्कूल ने कमरा बदल दिया था। नई सूची ऑफ़िस के दरवाज़े के पास लगी थी। फ़राह ने उसे नहीं देखा।
Dario sat down in Room 9. He looked around the empty desks. Only three other students sat there.
डारियो कमरा नंबर 9 में बैठ गया। उसने ख़ाली डेस्कों पर नज़र दौड़ाई। वहाँ सिर्फ़ तीन और विद्यार्थी बैठे थे।
"This isn't the whole class," he said. He asked a teacher near the door.
"यह पूरी क्लास नहीं है," उसने कहा। उसने दरवाज़े के पास खड़े एक टीचर से पूछा।
"The math exam moved to Room 4," the teacher said. "Room 9 is for a different test."
"गणित की परीक्षा कमरा नंबर 4 में बदल दी गई है," टीचर ने कहा। "कमरा नंबर 9 किसी और टेस्ट के लिए है।"
Dario grabbed his bag and hurried down the hall. He found Farah outside Room 4.
डारियो ने अपना बैग उठाया और जल्दी से गलियारे में दौड़ पड़ा। उसे फ़राह कमरा नंबर 4 के बाहर मिल गई।
"I got the old room number," she said. "I didn't check the new list."

"Me too," Dario said. "Let's go in together."

The two friends walked in with two minutes left. They found seats side by side. They opened their test papers.
