Both students studied hard the night before. They wanted a good grade on the test. Neither one wanted to be late.
Kedua murid itu belajar keras pada malam sebelumnya. Mereka menginginkan nilai bagus di ujian itu. Tidak seorang pun dari mereka ingin terlambat.
Farah checked the exam schedule on the wall. It listed Room 4 for her math test. She walked there at nine o'clock.
Farah memeriksa jadwal ujian di dinding. Di sana tertulis Ruang 4 untuk ujian matematikanya. Ia berjalan ke sana pukul sembilan.
Dario checked the same list. He read Room 9 for the math test. He walked to Room 9 instead.
Dario memeriksa daftar yang sama. Ia membaca Ruang 9 untuk ujian matematika. Ia justru berjalan ke Ruang 9.
The school changed the room that morning. The new list hung by the office door. Farah did not see it.
Sekolah mengubah ruangannya pagi itu. Daftar yang baru ditempel di dekat pintu kantor. Farah tidak melihatnya.
Dario sat down in Room 9. He looked around the empty desks. Only three other students sat there.
Dario duduk di Ruang 9. Ia memandang meja-meja yang kosong. Hanya tiga murid lain yang duduk di sana.
"This isn't the whole class," he said. He asked a teacher near the door.
"Ini bukan seluruh kelas," katanya. Ia bertanya kepada seorang guru di dekat pintu.
"The math exam moved to Room 4," the teacher said. "Room 9 is for a different test."
"Ujian matematika dipindahkan ke Ruang 4," kata guru itu. "Ruang 9 untuk ujian yang lain."
Dario grabbed his bag and hurried down the hall. He found Farah outside Room 4.
Dario menyambar tasnya dan bergegas menyusuri lorong. Ia menemukan Farah di luar Ruang 4.
"I got the old room number," she said. "I didn't check the new list."
"Aku mendapat nomor ruang yang lama," katanya. "Aku tidak memeriksa daftar yang baru."
"Me too," Dario said. "Let's go in together."
"Aku juga," kata Dario. "Ayo masuk bersama."
The two friends walked in with two minutes left. They found seats side by side. They opened their test papers.
Kedua sahabat itu masuk saat waktu tinggal dua menit lagi. Mereka mendapat kursi bersebelahan. Mereka membuka lembar soal ujian.
