Florin waits in a hotel lobby with his parents. They are on holiday, and the trip is long.
Florin espera en el vestíbulo de un hotel con sus padres. Están de vacaciones y el viaje fue largo.
At the check-in desk, there is a robot. It is white and it has a big screen. An old man stands in front of the robot. He holds a small bag. He looks very tired.
En el mostrador de registro hay un robot. Es blanco y tiene una pantalla grande. Un anciano está parado frente al robot. Lleva una bolsa pequeña. Parece muy cansado.
"Please say your name," the robot says.
«Por favor, diga su nombre», dice el robot.
The old man talks fast. The robot says, "Sorry, I do not understand."
El anciano habla rápido. El robot dice: «Lo siento, no entiendo».
"I do not understand it, either," the old man says. He sighs.
«Yo tampoco lo entiendo», dice el anciano. Suspira.
Florin watches them for a minute. Then he walks to the old man.
Florin los observa un minuto. Luego camina hacia el anciano.
"Can I help you, sir?" he asks.
«¿Puedo ayudarle, señor?», pregunta.
"Yes, please," the old man says. "This machine does not like me."
«Sí, por favor», dice el anciano. «Esta máquina no me quiere.»
Florin smiles. "Touch the screen here," he says. "Then say your name slowly."
Florin sonríe. «Toque la pantalla aquí», dice. «Luego diga su nombre despacio.»
The old man touches the screen. He says his name slowly, one word at a time.
El anciano toca la pantalla. Dice su nombre despacio, una palabra a la vez.
The robot's lights turn green. "Hello! Welcome to our hotel," it says. A key card comes out of a small slot.
Las luces del robot se ponen verdes. «¡Hola! Bienvenido a nuestro hotel», dice. De una pequeña ranura sale una tarjeta llave.
"Here is your card," the robot says. "Your room is 204."
«Aquí está su tarjeta», dice el robot. «Su habitación es la 204.»
The old man laughs and takes the card. "Thank you, young man. Now I need a bed."
El anciano se ríe y toma la tarjeta. «Gracias, joven. Ahora necesito una cama.»
"Sleep well, sir," Florin says.
«Que descanse, señor», dice Florin.
