On Friday, Tove played in a school soccer game. Her team wore green. She played in defense. She liked to kick the ball far.
Na sexta-feira, Tove jogou numa partida de futebol da escola. O time dela vestia verde. Ela jogava na defesa. Ela gostava de chutar a bola bem longe.
Later, a girl from the other team ran at her. The ball came fast. Tove kicked it hard. It flew past her goalkeeper and into her own goal.
Mais tarde, uma menina do outro time correu na direção dela. A bola veio rápido. Tove chutou forte. A bola passou pela goleira dela e entrou no próprio gol.
For a moment, nobody spoke. Then the other team shouted. The score was one to zero.
Por um momento, ninguém disse nada. Então o outro time gritou. O placar era um a zero.
Tove's face went red. She wanted to hide. Her teammates ran to her. One girl laughed. "Nice shot! Wrong goal!" she said.
O rosto de Tove ficou vermelho. Ela queria se esconder. As colegas de time correram até ela. Uma menina riu. "Belo chute! Gol errado!", disse ela.
Tove laughed too. Another girl said, "It happens to everyone."
Tove riu também. Outra menina disse: "Acontece com todo mundo."
They lost the game by one goal. Tove felt bad, but she did not cry.
Elas perderam o jogo por um gol. Tove se sentiu mal, mas não chorou.
After school, she went to the field. She put a ball on the grass. She kicked it at the wall again and again. Before each kick, she looked up and checked the goal.
Depois da escola, ela foi ao campo. Colocou uma bola na grama. Chutou a bola contra o muro várias vezes. Antes de cada chute, ela levantava a cabeça e olhava para o gol.
Her brother stood in goal for her. "Again," he said. She kicked a hundred balls that week.
O irmão dela ficou no gol para ela. "De novo", ele dizia. Ela chutou cem bolas naquela semana.
On Friday, the same team came back. Near the end, a girl ran at the goal. Tove ran too. She put out her foot and stopped the ball.
Na sexta-feira, o mesmo time voltou. Perto do fim, uma menina correu em direção ao gol. Tove correu também. Ela esticou o pé e parou a bola.
She looked up first. Then she kicked it far away, out of the field.
Ela primeiro levantou a cabeça. Depois chutou a bola para longe, para fora do campo.
"Nice stop!" her goalkeeper shouted.
"Belo desarme!", gritou a goleira dela.
