Hazel usually keeps her backpack very organized. Tonight, her chemistry book was simply not there. She felt a little worried at first.
Hazel normalmente mantém a mochila bem organizada. Hoje à noite, o livro de química simplesmente não estava lá. No início, ela ficou um pouco preocupada.
Hazel forgot her chemistry textbook at home. Her test was the next morning. She needed to study that night.
Hazel esqueceu o livro de química em casa. A prova dela era na manhã seguinte. Ela precisava estudar naquela noite.
She called her classmate Delphine. "Can I borrow your textbook?" she asked. "I need it just for tonight."
Ela ligou para a colega de classe Delphine. "Posso pegar seu livro emprestado?", perguntou. "Preciso dele só por hoje à noite."
Delphine agreed but had one condition. "I need it back by eight," she said. "I also have an early test."
Delphine concordou, mas com uma condição. "Preciso dele de volta até as oito", disse ela. "Eu também tenho uma prova cedo."
Hazel rode her bike to Delphine's house. She picked up the heavy textbook. She thanked Delphine and rode straight home.
Hazel foi de bicicleta até a casa de Delphine. Ela pegou o livro pesado. Agradeceu a Delphine e voltou direto para casa.
She studied for three hours that night. She wrote notes on every important page. She packed the textbook in her bag.
Ela estudou por três horas naquela noite. Escreveu anotações em cada página importante. Guardou o livro na mochila.
The next morning, she woke up early. She rode to school before the first bell. She found Delphine by the lockers.
Na manhã seguinte, ela acordou cedo. Foi de bicicleta até a escola antes do primeiro sinal. Encontrou Delphine perto dos armários.
"Here's your book," Hazel said. "Thank you very much for this." Delphine smiled and took it back quickly.
"Aqui está seu livro", disse Hazel. "Muito obrigada por isso." Delphine sorriu e o pegou de volta rapidamente.
"Good luck on your test," Delphine said. Hazel walked into her classroom and smiled.
"Boa sorte na sua prova", disse Delphine. Hazel entrou na sala de aula sorrindo.
She sat down and opened her test booklet. She remembered every page from the night before.
