The Driving Test She Almost Missed

Inaya has a driving test at nine o'clock this morning. She practiced parking and turns all week with her father. She plans to take the bus to the testing center. She leaves her house early, just in case.

इनाया की आज सुबह नौ बजे ड्राइविंग टेस्ट है। उसने पूरे हफ़्ते अपने पापा के साथ पार्किंग और मोड़ों की प्रैक्टिस की है। वह बस से टेस्टिंग सेंटर जाने की सोच रही है। वह अपने घर से जल्दी निकल जाती है, ताकि कोई दिक़्क़त न हो।

At the bus stop, a sign says the bus is delayed. Inaya checks her watch. She only has thirty minutes left.

बस स्टॉप पर एक बोर्ड लगा है, जिस पर लिखा है कि बस लेट है। इनाया अपनी घड़ी देखती है। उसके पास सिर्फ़ तीस मिनट बचे हैं।

She thinks about her two options. She can wait for the late bus. Or she can ride her neighbor's bike instead. Her neighbor Aziz always tells her to use it anytime.

वह अपने दो विकल्पों के बारे में सोचती है। वह लेट बस का इंतज़ार कर सकती है। या फिर वह अपने पड़ोसी की साइकिल ले सकती है। उसके पड़ोसी अज़ीज़ हमेशा कहते हैं कि वह जब चाहे साइकिल ले जा सकती है।

Inaya decides quickly. She runs back home and gets the bike from Aziz's yard. She pedals hard down the main street toward the testing center.

इनाया जल्दी फ़ैसला कर लेती है। वह दौड़कर घर वापस जाती है और अज़ीज़ के आँगन से साइकिल ले लेती है। वह मुख्य सड़क पर पूरी ताक़त से पैडल मारती हुई टेस्टिंग सेंटर की ओर बढ़ती है।

Ten minutes later, she reaches the building. She is tired but on time.

दस मिनट बाद वह इमारत तक पहुँच जाती है। वह थकी हुई है, लेकिन समय पर है।

She parks the bike outside and walks in. The instructor calls her name at exactly nine o'clock. Inaya takes a deep breath and walks toward the car.

वह साइकिल बाहर खड़ी करती है और अंदर चली जाती है। इंस्ट्रक्टर ठीक नौ बजे उसका नाम पुकारता है। इनाया एक गहरी साँस लेती है और कार की ओर चल देती है।
