Pablo's family plans a big holiday dinner soon. His grandmother wants to make her old stew. His mother wants to try a new dish.
Keluarga Pablo akan segera mengadakan makan malam hari raya yang besar. Neneknya ingin membuat sup lamanya. Ibunya ingin mencoba hidangan baru.
They ask Pablo to help decide. "Which one do you like more?" his mother asks. Pablo does not want to upset anyone.
Mereka meminta Pablo membantu memutuskan. "Kamu lebih suka yang mana?" tanya ibunya. Pablo tidak ingin membuat siapa pun kecewa.
He walks between the kitchen and the stove. Both smells fill the whole house. He cannot pick a favorite by smell alone.
Ia berjalan bolak-balik antara dapur dan kompor. Kedua aroma itu memenuhi seluruh rumah. Ia tidak bisa memilih favorit hanya dari baunya.
He tastes his grandmother's stew first. It reminds him of every holiday before. Warm and familiar, just like always.

He tastes his mother's new dish next. The new dish tastes bright and different. Pablo thinks about both dishes carefully.
Berikutnya ia mencicipi hidangan baru ibunya. Hidangan baru itu terasa segar dan berbeda. Pablo memikirkan kedua hidangan itu dengan saksama.
He does not want to choose just one. Both dishes deserve a place at the table. An idea slowly forms in his mind.

"Why not make both dishes this year?" Pablo asks. His grandmother and mother look at each other. They both smile and agree happily.
"Bagaimana kalau tahun ini kita buat kedua hidangan?" tanya Pablo. Nenek dan ibunya saling memandang. Keduanya tersenyum dan setuju dengan senang hati.
On the holiday, the table has both dishes. Family members try the old stew first. Then they try the new dish too.
Pada hari raya, meja itu menyajikan kedua hidangan. Anggota keluarga mencoba sup lama lebih dulu. Lalu mereka mencoba hidangan baru juga.
Everyone loves having two different choices. Pablo's grandmother asks for the new recipe. Pablo feels proud of his simple idea.
