Zara's best friend has set her up on a blind date at the pub's weekly trivia night. She almost cancels twice before finally walking through the door. Her date, Bram, is already sitting at a small table near the back. He looks just as nervous as she feels. Zara orders a lemonade and sits down across from him, unsure how to start.
ज़ारा की सबसे अच्छी सहेली ने उसे पब की साप्ताहिक ट्रिविया नाइट में एक ब्लाइंड डेट पर भेज दिया है। अंदर आने से पहले वह दो बार लगभग मना करने वाली थी। उसका डेट, ब्रैम, पहले से पीछे की ओर एक छोटी मेज़ पर बैठा है। वह उतना ही घबराया हुआ लग रहा है जितना ज़ारा ख़ुद महसूस कर रही है। ज़ारा एक नींबू पानी मँगवाती है और उसके सामने बैठ जाती है, समझ नहीं पाती कि बात कैसे शुरू करे।
The first round asks about geography, and neither of them says much. Zara answers two questions correctly but stays quiet about the rest, unsure how to start a conversation. Bram taps his pen against the table, clearly searching for something to say too. The second round covers movies, and they both guess wrong on every single question. Somehow, that makes them both laugh.
पहले राउंड में भूगोल के सवाल हैं और दोनों ज़्यादा कुछ नहीं कहते। ज़ारा दो सवालों के जवाब सही देती है, पर बाक़ी पर चुप रहती है, उसे समझ नहीं आता कि बातचीत कैसे शुरू करे। ब्रैम मेज़ पर पेन थपथपाता रहता है, साफ़ है कि वह भी कुछ कहने को ढूँढ रहा है। दूसरे राउंड में फ़िल्मों के सवाल हैं और दोनों हर एक सवाल पर ग़लत अंदाज़ा लगाते हैं। न जाने कैसे, इसी बात पर दोनों हँस पड़ते हैं।
Everything changes during the music round. A question about an obscure 1980s band appears. Both of them shout the answer at the same moment. They stare at each other, surprised, then laugh so hard that the team beside them turns to look.
सब कुछ म्यूज़िक राउंड में बदल जाता है। 1980 के दशक के एक अनजान बैंड के बारे में सवाल आता है। दोनों एक ही पल में जवाब चिल्ला देते हैं। वे हैरानी से एक-दूसरे को देखते हैं और फिर इतनी ज़ोर से हँसते हैं कि बगल वाली टीम मुड़कर देखने लगती है।
"How do you even know that song?" Bram asks, grinning for the first time all night. Zara admits her older sister used to play that album constantly when she was growing up. Bram says his father did the exact same thing. For the next few questions, they answer as a real team.

By the final round, they are leaning across the table, arguing happily about answers instead of staying quiet. Their team doesn't win, but Zara doesn't mind at all. If trivia night happens again next week, she already knows she'll be back, and so will Bram. Neither of them mentions the blind date part again; they simply agree on a time.
आख़िरी राउंड तक वे मेज़ पर झुके हुए हैं और चुप रहने के बजाय जवाबों पर ख़ुशी-ख़ुशी बहस कर रहे हैं। उनकी टीम जीतती नहीं, पर ज़ारा को बिल्कुल बुरा नहीं लगता। अगर अगले हफ़्ते फिर ट्रिविया नाइट हुई, तो वह जानती है कि वह वापस आएगी, और ब्रैम भी। दोनों में से कोई ब्लाइंड डेट वाली बात दोबारा नहीं छेड़ता; वे बस एक समय तय कर लेते हैं।
