The Soup for a Sick Friend

Coco's friend was sick. He lay in bed for three days. Coco wanted to help, so she made soup.

कोको का दोस्त बीमार था। वह तीन दिन से बिस्तर पर पड़ा था। कोको उसकी मदद करना चाहती थी, इसलिए उसने सूप बनाया।

She cut carrots and onions. She put them in a big pot. She added chicken and water. She cooked it slowly for an hour. The kitchen smelled good.

उसने गाजर और प्याज़ काटे। उसने उन्हें एक बड़े बर्तन में डाला। उसने उसमें चिकन और पानी मिलाया। उसने उसे एक घंटे तक धीमी आँच पर पकाया। रसोई में अच्छी ख़ुशबू फैल गई।

Then Coco tasted the soup. Her face changed. It was far too salty! She put salt in the pot two times by mistake.

फिर कोको ने सूप चखा। उसका चेहरा बदल गया। वह बहुत ही ज़्यादा नमकीन था! उसने ग़लती से बर्तन में दो बार नमक डाल दिया था।

She looked at the pot. She could not give this soup to a sick friend. For a minute, she did not know what to do.

उसने बर्तन की ओर देखा। वह यह सूप अपने बीमार दोस्त को नहीं दे सकती थी। एक मिनट के लिए उसे समझ नहीं आया कि क्या करे।

Then she remembered her mom's words. "Potatoes help," her mom always said.

फिर उसे अपनी मम्मी की बात याद आई। "आलू मदद करते हैं," उसकी मम्मी हमेशा कहती थीं।

Coco added a lot of water. She cut three potatoes and put them in the pot. She cooked the soup for half an hour. Then she tasted it again. Now it was good.

कोको ने बहुत सारा पानी डाल दिया। उसने तीन आलू काटे और उन्हें बर्तन में डाल दिया। उसने सूप को आधे घंटे तक पकाया। फिर उसने उसे दोबारा चखा। अब वह अच्छा था।

She poured the soup into a big jar. She took the bus to her friend's flat. He sat up in bed and smelled the jar.

उसने सूप को एक बड़े जार में उँडेला। वह बस पकड़कर अपने दोस्त के फ़्लैट पर गई। वह बिस्तर में उठकर बैठा और उसने जार को सूँघा।

He ate one bowl. "More, please," he said. He ate a second bowl too.

उसने एक कटोरा खाया। "और दो, प्लीज़," उसने कहा। उसने दूसरा कटोरा भी खाया।

Coco did not tell him about the salt.

कोको ने उसे नमक के बारे में नहीं बताया।
