Coco's friend was sick. He lay in bed for three days. Coco wanted to help, so she made soup.
可可的朋友病了，在床上躺了三天。可可想帮忙，就煮了汤。
She cut carrots and onions. She put them in a big pot. She added chicken and water. She cooked it slowly for an hour. The kitchen smelled good.
她切了胡萝卜和洋葱，放进一个大锅里，又加了鸡肉和水，慢慢煮了一个小时。厨房里香喷喷的。
Then Coco tasted the soup. Her face changed. It was far too salty! She put salt in the pot two times by mistake.
然后可可尝了尝汤，脸色变了。太咸了！她不小心往锅里放了两次盐。
She looked at the pot. She could not give this soup to a sick friend. For a minute, she did not know what to do.
她看着那口锅。她不能把这样的汤端给生病的朋友。有一分钟，她不知道该怎么办。
Then she remembered her mom's words. "Potatoes help," her mom always said.
然后她想起了妈妈的话。“土豆有用，”妈妈总是这样说。
Coco added a lot of water. She cut three potatoes and put them in the pot. She cooked the soup for half an hour. Then she tasted it again. Now it was good.
可可加了很多水。她切了三个土豆，放进锅里，把汤又煮了半个小时。然后她又尝了一口。现在味道好了。
She poured the soup into a big jar. She took the bus to her friend's flat. He sat up in bed and smelled the jar.
她把汤倒进一个大罐子里，坐公交车去朋友的公寓。他在床上坐起来，闻了闻罐子。
He ate one bowl. "More, please," he said. He ate a second bowl too.
他喝了一碗。“再来一碗，”他说。他又喝了第二碗。
Coco did not tell him about the salt.
可可没有告诉他盐的事。
