Magnus has piloted hot air balloons for almost fifteen years, and Opal has booked her very first ride. The morning starts calmly, with clear skies and only a gentle breeze. Neither of them expects the wind to shift so quickly.
Magnus ha pilotado globos aerostáticos durante casi quince años, y Opal ha reservado su primer paseo. La mañana comienza con calma, con cielos despejados y solo una brisa suave. Ninguno de los dos espera que el viento cambie tan rápido.
Halfway through the flight, the breeze picks up and pushes the balloon well past the planned landing field. Magnus checks the map clipped to the basket and frowns slightly. "We might need to land somewhere new," he tells Opal, keeping his voice relaxed.

Below them, farmland stretches out in every direction, with no obvious clearing in sight. Magnus spots a wide, empty field and begins the slow descent, adjusting the burner carefully. Opal grips the basket's edge, more excited than nervous now.

They land with a soft bump in the middle of someone's pasture, scattering a few curious sheep. A farmer walks over almost immediately, hands on his hips. He looks clearly confused by the giant balloon in his field. Magnus climbs out and explains what happened.

The farmer, it turns out, has always wanted to see a hot air balloon up close. He helps them fold the balloon. Then he offers them a ride back to the launch site in his truck. Opal decides this landing was better than a smooth one, in every way.
Resulta que el granjero siempre había querido ver un globo aerostático de cerca. Los ayuda a doblar el globo. Luego les ofrece llevarlos de vuelta al sitio de lanzamiento en su camioneta. Opal decide que este aterrizaje fue mejor que uno sin sobresaltos, en todos los sentidos.
"If every flight ends like this, I'll book another one tomorrow," she tells Magnus on the drive back. He laughs and admits that in fifteen years, he has never landed in quite so many sheep before.
