Every Sunday, Suri walked with her grandmother around the lake. It was their favorite routine together. They talked quietly and fed the ducks.
Todo domingo, Suri caminhava com a avó ao redor do lago. Essa era a rotina favorita das duas. Elas conversavam baixinho e alimentavam os patos.
This Sunday started just like any other. They packed a small bag of bread. They left the house right after breakfast.
Este domingo começou como qualquer outro. Elas prepararam um saquinho de pão. Saíram de casa logo depois do café da manhã.
Halfway around the lake, a man waved from a bench. Suri's grandmother stopped walking and stared at him. "Ingmar? Is that really you?" she said.
Na metade do caminho ao redor do lago, um homem acenou de um banco. A avó de Suri parou de andar e ficou olhando para ele. "Ingmar? É você mesmo?", ela disse.
The man stood up slowly and smiled wide. "Rosalind! After all these years," he said. He held out both arms for a hug.
O homem se levantou devagar e sorriu largo. "Rosalind! Depois de todos esses anos", ele disse. Ele abriu os dois braços para um abraço.
Suri watched in surprise. Her grandmother hugged the stranger tightly. "Ingmar was your grandfather's best friend," she explained. "We did not see each other for many years."
Suri observava, surpresa. A avó abraçou o estranho com força. "Ingmar era o melhor amigo do seu avô", ela explicou. "Ficamos muitos anos sem nos ver."
Ingmar joined them for the rest of the walk. He told Suri stories about her grandfather. Some stories made her grandmother laugh a lot.

They fed the ducks together at the halfway point. Ingmar pointed out his favorite duck from years ago. This man was a stranger to her that morning.

By the end of the walk, Suri heard many stories. She wanted to hear more.

Ingmar promised to visit again next Sunday. Suri's grandmother squeezed his hand before he left. "Same bench, same time," she said.

The next Sunday, Ingmar waited at the same bench. He brought old photos of her grandfather. Suri sat between the two old friends.
No domingo seguinte, Ingmar esperou no mesmo banco. Ele trouxe fotos antigas do avô dela. Suri sentou-se entre os dois velhos amigos.
