The Misspelled Invitation

Ivy plans a birthday party for Saturday. She wants to invite ten friends.

She writes a message about the party. She writes the day, the time, and the address.

Ela escreve uma mensagem sobre a festa. Ela coloca o dia, o horário e o endereço.

Ivy sends the message to all her friends. She feels good about her plan.

Ivy envia a mensagem para todos os amigos. Ela se sente bem com o seu plano.

Her friend Jasper reads the message. He looks at his own calendar.

Seu amigo Jasper lê a mensagem. Ele olha o próprio calendário.

"Wait," Jasper texts back. "You wrote Saturday, June tenth. June tenth is a Sunday."

"Espera", Jasper responde por mensagem. "Você escreveu sábado, dez de junho. Dez de junho é domingo."

Ivy checks her calendar. Jasper is right. She sees her mistake.

Ivy confere o calendário. Jasper está certo. Ela percebe o erro.

"Oh no," Ivy says. "I made a mistake. The party is on Sunday, not Saturday."

"Ah, não", diz Ivy. "Eu errei. A festa é no domingo, não no sábado."

She quickly writes a new message. "Sorry, everyone! My party is on Sunday, June tenth."

Ela escreve rapidamente uma nova mensagem. "Desculpa, pessoal! Minha festa é no domingo, dez de junho."

"It is not on Saturday," she adds. She reads the message twice this time.

"Não é no sábado", ela acrescenta. Desta vez, ela lê a mensagem duas vezes.

Ivy sends the new message to all her friends. She waits for their replies.

Ivy envia a nova mensagem para todos os amigos. Ela espera pelas respostas.

One by one, her friends write back. They all say the new date is fine.

Um por um, os amigos respondem. Todos dizem que a nova data está ótima.

Jasper writes back too. "Thanks for telling me," he says. "See you on Sunday!"

Jasper também responde. "Obrigado por avisar", ele diz. "Te vejo no domingo!"

Ivy smiles and puts her phone down.

Ivy sorri e guarda o celular.

"See you then," she writes back.

"Até lá", ela responde.
