Lena writes a text message late at night. She wants to tell her sister about a man she likes. She picks the wrong name in her phone.
लीना देर रात एक टेक्स्ट मैसेज लिखती है। वह अपनी बहन को उस आदमी के बारे में बताना चाहती है जो उसे पसंद है। वह अपने फ़ोन में ग़लत नाम चुन लेती है।
The message goes to Tariq instead, a man from her book club. He reads it and feels very confused. It says, "I really like him. I want to ask him out soon!"
मैसेज उसकी बहन की जगह तारिक़ के पास चला जाता है, जो उसके बुक क्लब का एक आदमी है। वह उसे पढ़ता है और बहुत उलझन में पड़ जाता है। उसमें लिखा है, "मुझे वह सच में बहुत पसंद है। मैं जल्द ही उससे बाहर चलने को कहना चाहती हूँ!"
Tariq doesn't understand the message. He decides to write back. "Hi Lena, I think this message is for someone else," he types.
तारिक़ को मैसेज समझ नहीं आता। वह जवाब देने का फ़ैसला करता है। "हाय लीना, मुझे लगता है यह मैसेज किसी और के लिए है," वह टाइप करता है।
Lena checks her phone the next morning. Her face turns red when she reads Tariq's message. "Oh no, that was a big mistake," she says to herself.
अगली सुबह लीना अपना फ़ोन देखती है। तारिक़ का मैसेज पढ़ते ही उसका चेहरा लाल हो जाता है। "हे भगवान, यह तो बहुत बड़ी ग़लती हो गई," वह अपने आप से कहती है।
She calls Tariq right away. "I'm so sorry," she says. "That message wasn't for you."
वह तुरंत तारिक़ को फ़ोन करती है। "मुझे बहुत अफ़सोस है," वह कहती है। "वह मैसेज तुम्हारे लिए नहीं था।"
"It's okay," Tariq says and laughs. "But now I'm curious. Who do you like?"
"कोई बात नहीं," तारिक़ हँसकर कहता है। "लेकिन अब मुझे जिज्ञासा हो रही है। तुम्हें कौन पसंद है?"
Lena laughs too and feels a little nervous. "Actually," she says slowly, "I think I like you."
लीना भी हँस पड़ती है और थोड़ी घबरा जाती है। "असल में," वह धीरे से कहती है, "मुझे लगता है कि मुझे तुम पसंद हो।"
Tariq goes quiet for a moment. Then he smiles. "I like you too," he says. "Do you want to get coffee this week?"
तारिक़ एक पल के लिए चुप हो जाता है। फिर वह मुस्कुराता है। "तुम मुझे भी पसंद हो," वह कहता है। "क्या तुम इस हफ़्ते कॉफ़ी पीने चलोगी?"
"Yes," Lena says. "I'd like that a lot." They talk on the phone for another hour. Lena forgets all about her sister.
