The Stranger at the Party

Bo goes to his friend's birthday party on Friday. The house is loud and full of people. He knows almost everyone in the room.

बो शुक्रवार को अपने दोस्त की बर्थडे पार्टी में जाता है। घर में बहुत शोर है और लोगों की भीड़ है। वह कमरे में लगभग सभी को जानता है।

Near the snack table, he notices a girl standing alone. She holds a cup and looks at her phone. Nobody talks to her.

नाश्ते की मेज़ के पास उसे एक लड़की अकेली खड़ी दिखती है। उसके हाथ में एक कप है और वह अपना फ़ोन देख रही है। कोई उससे बात नहीं कर रहा।

Bo walks over with a friendly smile. "Hi, I'm Bo," he says. "Do you like the party?"

बो दोस्ताना मुस्कान के साथ उसके पास जाता है। "हाय, मैं बो हूँ," वह कहता है। "तुम्हें पार्टी कैसी लग रही है?"

The girl looks up, a little surprised. "Not really," she admits. "I'm Nella. I don't know anyone here."

लड़की ऊपर देखती है, थोड़ी हैरान। "ख़ास नहीं," वह मान लेती है। "मैं नेला हूँ। यहाँ मैं किसी को नहीं जानती।"

"I know almost everyone," Bo says. "Let me introduce you around." Nella smiles for the first time.

"मैं लगभग सबको जानता हूँ," बो कहता है। "चलो, मैं तुम्हें सबसे मिलवाता हूँ।" नेला पहली बार मुस्कुराती है।

He brings her to his group of friends. They sit together by the couch. They make room for her right away. Someone hands her a slice of pizza.

वह उसे अपने दोस्तों के ग्रुप के पास ले जाता है। वे सब सोफ़े के पास साथ बैठ जाते हैं। उन्होंने तुरंत उसके लिए जगह बना दी। किसी ने उसे पिज़्ज़ा का एक टुकड़ा थमा दिया।

Nella asks questions about the birthday girl. Bo tells her a funny story from last year. The whole group laughs together.

नेला जन्मदिन वाली लड़की के बारे में सवाल पूछती है। बो पिछले साल की एक मज़ेदार कहानी सुनाता है। पूरा ग्रुप एक साथ हँस पड़ता है।

An hour later, Nella talks and laughs with everyone. She tells a joke of her own. The group laughs a lot.

एक घंटे बाद नेला सबके साथ बातें और हँसी-मज़ाक कर रही है। वह अपना भी एक चुटकुला सुनाती है। ग्रुप ख़ूब हँसता है।

Near the end of the night, Bo finds Nella. She stands by the door. "Thanks for talking to me first," she says. "I had a good time tonight."

रात के आख़िर में बो नेला को ढूँढ़ता है। वह दरवाज़े के पास खड़ी है। "सबसे पहले मुझसे बात करने के लिए शुक्रिया," वह कहती है। "आज रात मुझे बहुत अच्छा लगा।"

"Same time next week?" Bo asks. Nella laughs and nods. "I bring the pizza next time," she says.

"अगले हफ़्ते फिर मिलें?" बो पूछता है। नेला हँसती है और सिर हिला देती है। "अगली बार पिज़्ज़ा मैं लाऊँगी," वह कहती है।

The next weekend, Bo texts Nella first. They meet at a different friend's party. This time, Nella already knows half the room.

अगले हफ़्ते के आख़िर में बो सबसे पहले नेला को मैसेज करता है। वे एक और दोस्त की पार्टी में मिलते हैं। इस बार नेला कमरे में आधे लोगों को पहले से जानती है।
