Nora gets a message from her friend Victor on Wednesday.
नोरा को बुधवार को अपने दोस्त विक्टर का मैसेज मिलता है।
"Come to my place at seven on Friday," Victor writes. "I'm cooking pasta."
"शुक्रवार को सात बजे मेरे घर आना," विक्टर लिखता है। "मैं पास्ता बना रहा हूँ।"
Nora writes back right away. "Sounds great! I'll be there."
नोरा तुरंत जवाब लिखती है। "बहुत बढ़िया! मैं आ जाऊँगी।"
An hour later, her friend Carmen sends a message too. "Want to try the new restaurant on Friday night?"
एक घंटे बाद उसकी दोस्त कारमेन भी मैसेज भेजती है। "शुक्रवार की रात नए रेस्तराँ में चलना चाहोगी?"
Nora does not check her calendar first. She writes back, "Yes! What time?"
नोरा पहले अपना कैलेंडर नहीं देखती। वह जवाब लिखती है, "हाँ! कितने बजे?"
"Let's meet at seven thirty," Carmen replies. Nora agrees again.
"साढ़े सात बजे मिलते हैं," कारमेन जवाब देती है। नोरा फिर से हाँ कह देती है।
On Thursday evening, Nora opens her calendar to plan her week. She sees both dinners on the same night.
गुरुवार शाम नोरा अपना हफ़्ता तय करने के लिए कैलेंडर खोलती है। उसे दोनों डिनर एक ही रात को दिखते हैं।
"Oh no," she says. "I said yes to Victor and Carmen for the same evening."
"हे भगवान," वह कहती है। "मैंने विक्टर और कारमेन दोनों को एक ही शाम के लिए हाँ कह दी।"
Nora thinks for a moment. She decides to keep her plan with Victor.
नोरा एक पल सोचती है। वह विक्टर के साथ अपनी योजना रखने का फ़ैसला करती है।
She calls Carmen right away. "I'm so sorry," Nora says. "I made a mistake with my calendar."
वह तुरंत कारमेन को फ़ोन करती है। "मुझे बहुत अफ़सोस है," नोरा कहती है। "मुझसे कैलेंडर में ग़लती हो गई।"
"I already have dinner plans with Victor on Friday," she explains. "Can we go another night instead?"
"मेरी शुक्रवार को विक्टर के साथ डिनर की योजना पहले से है," वह समझाती है। "क्या हम इसके बजाय किसी और रात चल सकते हैं?"
Carmen laughs. "No problem at all. How about Saturday?"
कारमेन हँसती है। "बिल्कुल कोई बात नहीं। शनिवार कैसा रहेगा?"
"Saturday works perfectly," Nora says. "Thank you for understanding."

Nora writes both new plans in her calendar. This time, she checks every date twice.
नोरा दोनों नई योजनाएँ अपने कैलेंडर में लिख लेती है। इस बार वह हर तारीख़ दो बार जाँचती है।
She puts her phone down and picks up her keys for work.
वह अपना फ़ोन नीचे रखती है और काम के लिए अपनी चाबियाँ उठा लेती है।
