The Double-Booked Evening

Nora realizes she has agreed to two dinner plans on the same night and has to reschedule one.
Nora gets a message from her friend Victor on Wednesday.
"Come to my place at seven on Friday," Victor writes. "I'm cooking pasta."
Nora writes back right away. "Sounds great! I'll be there."
An hour later, her friend Carmen sends a message too. "Want to try the new restaurant on Friday night?"
Nora does not check her calendar first. She writes back, "Yes! What time?"
"Let's meet at seven thirty," Carmen replies. Nora agrees again.
On Thursday evening, Nora opens her calendar to plan her week. She sees both dinners on the same night.
"Oh no," she says. "I said yes to Victor and Carmen for the same evening."
Nora thinks for a moment. She decides to keep her plan with Victor.
She calls Carmen right away. "I'm so sorry," Nora says. "I made a mistake with my calendar."
"I already have dinner plans with Victor on Friday," she explains. "Can we go another night instead?"
Carmen laughs. "No problem at all. How about Saturday?"
"Saturday works perfectly," Nora says. "Thank you for understanding."
Nora writes both new plans in her calendar. This time, she checks every date twice.
She puts her phone down and picks up her keys for work.
