Marnie turned sixteen last month. She got her first real job at a shop. Now she wanted to open a bank account.
Marnie cumplió dieciséis años el mes pasado. Consiguió su primer trabajo de verdad en una tienda. Ahora quería abrir una cuenta bancaria.
She walked into the bank near her house. A man at the desk smiled at her. His name tag said Fenwick.
Entró al banco cerca de su casa. Un hombre en el escritorio le sonrió. Su gafete decía Fenwick.
"I want to save my money," Marnie said. "Can you help me?"
«Quiero ahorrar mi dinero», dijo Marnie. «¿Puede ayudarme?».
"Of course," Fenwick said. "We have two accounts for you."

He showed her the first account on his screen. "This one has no fees at all. You can take out cash any day."

Then he showed her the second account. "This one pays you a little extra each month. But you can only visit the bank once a week."

Marnie thought for a minute. She liked to buy small things on weekends. She also wanted her money to grow slowly.

"I take out cash a lot," she said. "The first account fits my life."

Fenwick nodded and printed some papers. Marnie signed her name three times. He gave her a new bank card.

"Welcome to the bank," Fenwick said. Marnie put the card in her wallet. She walked out and texted her mom the news.
