Abel had one photo to send to the school contest. The deadline was Friday. He had two good choices.
The first photo showed a sunset over the river. The sky was orange and pink, and every line was sharp. It took him an hour on the cold bridge. His art teacher said it was the best photo in the class.
The second photo was not sharp at all. It showed his grandmother at a family dinner. She laughed with her hand on the table. The picture was blurry. Abel took it by accident when his uncle told a joke.
His sister sat next to him. He put the two photos on his screen. He looked at them for a long time.
Su hermana se sentó a su lado. Puso las dos fotos en la pantalla. Las miró durante mucho tiempo.
"The sunset is perfect," he said to his sister. "It can win."
"Maybe," she said. "But a lot of people take sunsets."
«Tal vez», dijo ella.
Abel looked at the blurry photo again. He remembered the noise at the table. He remembered the smell of rice and fish. In normal photos, his grandmother always stood very still. In this one, she was really herself.
"Nobody else has this one," he said.
«Nadie más tiene esta», dijo.
His sister nodded. "Grandma is going to love it."
Su hermana asintió. «A la abuela le va a encantar».
Abel chose the blurry photo. He wrote a short title: "Sunday Dinner." Then he pressed send. He also printed a copy for his grandmother.
Abel eligió la foto borrosa. Escribió un título corto: «Cena de domingo». Luego presionó enviar. También imprimió una copia para su abuela.
