Felix leaves for school in the morning. The sky looks gray and cloudy. His mom says, "Take your umbrella!"
Felix sale para la escuela en la mañana. El cielo se ve gris y nublado. Su mamá dice: «¡Lleva tu paraguas!».
"I don't need it," Felix says. He walks out the door fast. He forgets his umbrella.
«No lo necesito», dice Felix. Sale rápido por la puerta. Olvida su paraguas.
The school day goes by quickly. Felix studies, eats lunch, and talks with friends. He does not think about the sky.
El día de escuela pasa rápido. Felix estudia, come su almuerzo y habla con sus amigos. No piensa en el cielo.
School ends. Felix walks outside. Big drops of rain fall on his head. The rain gets heavier every minute.
La escuela termina. Felix camina afuera. Gotas grandes de lluvia caen sobre su cabeza. La lluvia se hace más fuerte cada minuto.
Felix has no umbrella and no jacket. He starts to walk home fast. His clothes get wet very quickly.
Felix no tiene paraguas ni chaqueta. Empieza a caminar rápido a su casa. Su ropa se moja muy rápido.
He passes a small shop on the corner. The shop sells umbrellas in the window. Felix stops and goes inside.
Pasa por una tienda pequeña en la esquina. La tienda vende paraguas en el escaparate. Felix se detiene y entra.
"How much is that blue umbrella?" he asks.
«¿Cuánto cuesta ese paraguas azul?», pregunta.
"Just four dollars," the shop owner says.
«Solo cuatro dólares», dice el dueño de la tienda.
Felix takes out his money and pays. He opens the new umbrella outside. The rain stops hitting his head.
Felix saca su dinero y paga. Abre el paraguas nuevo afuera. La lluvia deja de caer sobre su cabeza.
He walks the rest of the way home. The umbrella keeps him dry. Felix thinks about his mom's words.
Camina el resto del camino a casa. El paraguas lo mantiene seco. Felix piensa en las palabras de su mamá.
He opens the front door and steps inside. "I bought an umbrella," he tells his mom.
Abre la puerta principal y entra. «Compré un paraguas», le dice a su mamá.
His mom laughs. "Next time, listen to me," she says.
Su mamá se ríe. «La próxima vez, escúchame», dice.
