New Roommates

Jun is sixteen years old. Today, he is going to move into his new dorm room. He feels a little nervous.

Jun tiene dieciséis años. Hoy va a mudarse a su nueva habitación en el dormitorio. Se siente un poco nervioso.

His parents help him carry his bags up the stairs. The dorm is bigger than he expected.

Sus padres le ayudan a llevar las maletas por las escaleras. El dormitorio es más grande de lo que esperaba.

When Jun opens the door, he sees two boys already inside. They put posters on the wall.

Cuando Jun abre la puerta, ve a dos chicos que ya están dentro. Están poniendo pósters en la pared.

"Hi! Are you Jun?" asks a tall boy. "I'm Marco. This is my friend, Aki."

«¡Hola! ¿Eres Jun?», pregunta un chico alto. «Soy Marco. Este es mi amigo, Aki».

"Nice to meet you both," Jun says. He puts his bags down and looks around the room.

«Mucho gusto a los dos», dice Jun. Deja sus maletas y mira alrededor de la habitación.

The room has three beds, three desks, and one big window. It looks bright and clean.

La habitación tiene tres camas, tres escritorios y una ventana grande. Se ve luminosa y limpia.

"You can take the bed by the window," Marco says. "Aki and I already picked our spots."

«Puedes quedarte con la cama junto a la ventana», dice Marco. «Aki y yo ya elegimos nuestros lugares».

Jun thanks him and starts to unpack his things. Aki helps him find a good spot for his books.

Jun le da las gracias y empieza a desempacar sus cosas. Aki le ayuda a encontrar un buen lugar para sus libros.

"So, where are you from?" Aki asks. Jun explains that he grew up in a small town nearby.

«Entonces, ¿de dónde eres?», pregunta Aki. Jun explica que creció en un pueblo pequeño cerca de ahí.

They talk about music and their classes for the new year. Jun starts to relax.

Hablan de música y de sus clases para el nuevo año. Jun empieza a relajarse.

Later, Marco orders pizza because it is their first night together. They eat and laugh a lot.

Más tarde, Marco pide pizza porque es su primera noche juntos. Comen y ríen mucho.

By night, Jun does not feel like a stranger. He feels happy in his new home.

Para la noche, Jun ya no se siente como un extraño. Se siente feliz en su nuevo hogar.

He calls his parents and tells them the good news. "My roommates are really nice," he says.

Llama a sus padres y les da la buena noticia. «Mis compañeros de cuarto son muy simpáticos», dice.

That night, Jun goes to sleep. He feels very happy. He knows this year is going to be great.

Esa noche, Jun se va a dormir. Se siente muy feliz. Sabe que este año va a ser genial.
