Priya and Jasper are in the same class. The school dance is on Friday night. Priya likes Jasper, but she feels shy about it.
普丽娅和贾斯珀在同一个班。学校的舞会在星期五晚上。普丽娅喜欢贾斯珀，可是她对这件事觉得害羞。
Priya tells her friend Colin about her feelings. "Don't tell anyone," she says. Colin promises to keep the secret.
普丽娅把自己的心事告诉了朋友科林。“别告诉任何人，”她说。科林答应保守这个秘密。
At lunch, Colin talks to Jasper by mistake. He wants to help Priya. "Priya likes someone," Colin says. "She's too shy to say who."
午饭时，科林弄错了，跟贾斯珀说起了这件事。他想帮普丽娅。“普丽娅喜欢一个人，”科林说，“她太害羞了，不好意思说是谁。”
Jasper hears this and thinks Colin means someone else. He believes Priya likes a boy on the soccer team.
贾斯珀听了，以为科林说的是别人。他相信普丽娅喜欢的是足球队里的一个男生。
On Thursday, Jasper sees Priya at her locker. "Are you going to the dance with someone?" he asks quietly.
星期四，贾斯珀在储物柜旁看到了普丽娅。“你要和谁一起去舞会吗？”他轻声问。
"No," Priya says. "I don't have a plan yet." She looks down at her books.
“没有，”普丽娅说，“我还没有安排。”她低头看着自己的书。
"I heard you like a boy on the soccer team," Jasper says. Priya's face turns red. "What? No, that's not true!"
“我听说你喜欢足球队里的一个男生，”贾斯珀说。普丽娅的脸红了。“什么？不是的，不是真的！”
"Then who do you like?" Jasper asks. Priya takes a deep breath. "I like you, Jasper," she says.
“那你喜欢谁？”贾斯珀问。普丽娅深吸了一口气。“我喜欢你，贾斯珀，”她说。
Jasper smiles a big smile. "I like you too," he says. "Colin got it all wrong."
贾斯珀露出了大大的笑容。“我也喜欢你，”他说，“科林全弄错了。”
They both laugh about the mix-up. "Do you want to go to the dance with me?" Jasper asks.
他们俩都为这场弄混的乌龙笑了起来。“你愿意和我一起去舞会吗？”贾斯珀问。
Priya nods and smiles. "Yes, I'd like that," she says. They walk to class together. They still laugh about Colin's mistake.
普丽娅点点头，笑了。“愿意，我很乐意，”她说。他们一起走向教室，一想到科林的错还忍不住笑。
