Petra had an orange cat named Biscuit. Every evening, Biscuit came home at six o'clock.
Petra tinha um gato laranja chamado Biscuit. Todas as noites, Biscuit voltava para casa às seis horas.
On Tuesday, six o'clock came and went. Biscuit did not come home. Petra waited by the door.
Na terça-feira, as seis horas chegaram e passaram. Biscuit não voltou para casa. Petra esperou perto da porta.
She called Biscuit's name in the yard. Nothing happened. The street stayed quiet.
Ela chamou o nome de Biscuit no quintal. Nada aconteceu. A rua continuou quieta.
At seven, Petra walked around the block. She looked under cars and behind fences. There was no sign of Biscuit.

She went back home and waited. She made a cup of tea and watched the window.

At eight o'clock, a soft sound came from the porch. Petra opened the door quickly.

Biscuit sat there, calm and hungry. But something was different. A small bell hung from his collar.

Petra never put a bell on Biscuit. She looked at it closely. It had a tiny tag that said "Chester."

The next morning, Petra walked down the street. She stopped at a house with a nice garden.

A man opened the door. "Oh, that is Chester's bell," he said. "Your cat visits me every day. I feed him fish."

Petra laughed and thanked him. She walked home with a new neighbor to talk to.
