Giselle and Jared went to the adventure park for Jared's birthday. They put on helmets and safety harnesses at the front gate.
吉赛尔和贾里德为了庆祝贾里德的生日，去了探险公园。他们在大门口戴上了头盔，系好了安全带。
A worker showed them a wooden map near the entrance. Two paths started at the same platform, high in the trees.
一位工作人员在入口附近给他们看了一张木制地图。两条路线从同一个平台出发，高高地悬在树林间。
The first path was a low bridge with wide wooden planks. It looked steady and easy to cross.
第一条路线是一座低矮的吊桥，铺着宽宽的木板。看起来稳当，也容易走。
The second path was a thin zip line between two tall towers. It looked exciting, but also a little scary.
第二条路线是两座高塔之间的一根细长滑索。看起来很刺激，但也有点吓人。
"Which one do you want to try first?" Jared asked.
“你想先试哪一个？”贾里德问。
Giselle looked up at the zip line for a long time. "Let's do the zip line," she said. "We can do the bridge after."
吉赛尔抬头看了滑索很久。“我们先玩滑索吧，”她说，“吊桥可以之后再走。”
Jared laughed. "Are you sure? That one looks fast."
贾里德笑了。“你确定吗？那个看起来很快。”
"That's why I want to try it," Giselle said, smiling. "Before I change my mind."
“所以我才想试，”吉赛尔笑着说，“趁我还没改主意。”
They climbed the ladder to the platform together. A guide checked their harnesses and clipped them to the cable.
他们一起爬上梯子，来到平台上。一位教练检查了他们的安全带，把他们扣在缆绳上。
"Ready?" the guide asked.
“准备好了吗？”教练问。
Giselle nodded and stepped off the platform. The cable hummed as she flew between the towers. Wind rushed past her face, and she laughed the whole way across.
吉赛尔点点头，从平台上迈了出去。缆绳嗡嗡作响，她在两座塔之间飞过。风呼呼地擦过她的脸，她一路笑着滑到了对面。
Jared went next, shouting with excitement halfway through the ride.
接着轮到贾里德，滑到一半时，他兴奋地大叫起来。
They landed safely on the other side and unclipped their harnesses.
他们平安降落在另一边，解开了安全带。
"That was amazing," Jared said, still breathing fast.
“太棒了，”贾里德说，呼吸还很急促。
"Now for the easy part," Giselle said. She pointed at the wooden bridge ahead. They walked across it slowly, still smiling from the ride before.
