Sela had a new neighbor. He had a nice garden with a stone frog. The frog was gray and fat.
Sela tinha um novo vizinho. Ele tinha um jardim bonito com um sapo de pedra. O sapo era cinza e gordo.
On Monday morning, the frog sat by the gate. On Tuesday, it sat under the tree. On Wednesday, it sat next to the flowers.
Na segunda de manhã, o sapo estava perto do portão. Na terça, estava debaixo da árvore. Na quarta, estava ao lado das flores.
Sela did not understand. A stone frog cannot walk. Who moved it every night?
Sela não entendia. Um sapo de pedra não anda. Quem o mudava de lugar toda noite?
She asked her friend. "Maybe the neighbor moves it," her friend said. But the neighbor was old and slow. That did not seem right.

On Thursday evening, Sela sat at her window. She watched the garden and waited. The sky got dark.

At eight o'clock, the garden door opened. A small boy came out. He was the neighbor's grandson.
Às oito horas, a porta do jardim se abriu. Um menino pequeno saiu. Era o neto do vizinho.
The boy looked left and right. He picked up the heavy frog with both hands. He put it in a new place by the pond. Then he ran back inside, and he laughed.
O menino olhou para a esquerda e para a direita. Pegou o sapo pesado com as duas mãos. Colocou-o em um novo lugar perto do lago. Depois voltou correndo para dentro, rindo.
Sela smiled. It was a game. The boy wanted his grandpa to find it somewhere new.

The next day, Sela bought a small toy frog. In the evening, she went to the garden fence. She put the toy frog next to the stone frog.
No dia seguinte, Sela comprou um pequeno sapo de brinquedo. À noite, foi até a cerca do jardim. Colocou o sapo de brinquedo ao lado do sapo de pedra.
Then she went home and waited.
Depois foi para casa e esperou.
