Wrong Appointment Time

Marcus has a doctor's appointment this afternoon. He checks his phone and sees the time: three o'clock. He leaves his house early because he wants to be on time.

Marcus punya janji temu dengan dokter sore ini. Ia memeriksa ponselnya dan melihat waktunya: pukul tiga. Ia berangkat dari rumah lebih awal karena ingin tepat waktu.

He arrives at the clinic at half past two. The waiting room is quiet, so he sits down and waits. A few minutes later, a nurse calls his name.

Ia tiba di klinik pukul setengah tiga. Ruang tunggunya sepi, jadi ia duduk dan menunggu. Beberapa menit kemudian, seorang perawat memanggil namanya.

"Marcus Cole?" she asks. "The doctor is ready for you now."

"Marcus Cole?" tanyanya. "Dokter sudah siap menemui Anda sekarang."

Marcus looks confused. "I think my appointment is at three o'clock," he says.

Marcus tampak bingung. "Saya kira janji temu saya pukul tiga," katanya.

The nurse checks the computer. "Let me look at that for you," she says. She reads the screen carefully. "Actually, your appointment was booked for two-thirty."

Perawat itu memeriksa komputer. "Biar saya lihat dulu," katanya. Ia membaca layar dengan teliti. "Sebenarnya, janji temu Anda dipesan untuk pukul setengah tiga."

"Oh, I'm sorry," Marcus says. "I read the message wrong."

"Oh, maaf," kata Marcus. "Saya salah membaca pesannya."

"That's okay," the nurse says with a smile. "It happens more than you think."

"Tidak apa-apa," kata perawat itu sambil tersenyum. "Hal itu lebih sering terjadi daripada yang Anda kira."

Marcus feels relieved that he is not late after all. He follows the nurse down the hallway to the doctor's office.

Marcus merasa lega karena ternyata ia tidak terlambat. Ia mengikuti perawat itu menyusuri lorong menuju ruang dokter.

The doctor greets him and checks his blood pressure. She asks him a few questions about his health. Marcus answers each one clearly and honestly.

Dokter menyapanya dan memeriksa tekanan darahnya. Ia mengajukan beberapa pertanyaan tentang kesehatannya. Marcus menjawab setiap pertanyaan dengan jelas dan jujur.

"Everything looks fine," the doctor says. "Come back in six months for another check."

"Semuanya baik-baik saja," kata dokter. "Kembalilah enam bulan lagi untuk pemeriksaan berikutnya."

"Thank you," Marcus says. He stands up and shakes her hand.

"Terima kasih," kata Marcus. Ia berdiri dan berjabat tangan dengannya.

Before he leaves, he opens his phone and sets a clear reminder. He writes the correct time in large letters: two-thirty, not three.

Sebelum pergi, ia membuka ponselnya dan membuat pengingat yang jelas. Ia menulis waktu yang benar dengan huruf besar: pukul setengah tiga, bukan pukul tiga.

"I won't make that mistake again," he says quietly.

"Saya tidak akan melakukan kesalahan itu lagi," katanya pelan.

He walks out the door.

Ia berjalan keluar pintu.
