The Two Hotels with the Same Name

Yolanda gets out of a taxi at a hotel. She walks inside and gives her name at the desk. The clerk, Benedikt, looks through the computer and frowns.

Yolanda turun dari taksi di depan sebuah hotel. Ia berjalan masuk dan menyebutkan namanya di meja resepsionis. Petugasnya, Benedikt, memeriksa komputer dan mengerutkan dahi.

"I don't see your booking here," he says.

"Saya tidak menemukan pemesanan Anda di sini," katanya.

Yolanda shows him the email on her phone. Benedikt reads the address at the top carefully.

Yolanda menunjukkan surel di ponselnya. Benedikt membaca alamat di bagian atas dengan saksama.

"This is the Grand Hotel on River Street," he says. "But we are on Park Street," he says. "Two hotels, same name, different streets," he says.

"Ini Grand Hotel di Jalan River," katanya. "Sedangkan kami berada di Jalan Park," katanya. "Dua hotel, nama sama, jalan berbeda," katanya.

Yolanda laughs and shakes her head. "That explains why the driver looked confused," she says.

Yolanda tertawa dan menggelengkan kepala. "Pantas saja sopirnya tampak bingung," katanya.

Benedikt calls a taxi for her right away. "It's only ten minutes to Park Street," he says.

Benedikt langsung memanggilkan taksi untuknya. "Ke Jalan Park hanya sepuluh menit," katanya.

Yolanda thanks him and waits outside for the taxi. The new taxi arrives and takes her across town.

Yolanda berterima kasih kepadanya dan menunggu taksi di luar. Taksi yang baru tiba dan membawanya menyeberangi kota.

She sees the second Grand Hotel on the corner. This time, the clerk finds her name quickly.

Ia melihat Grand Hotel yang kedua di sudut jalan. Kali ini, petugasnya cepat menemukan namanya.

Yolanda checks in and rides the elevator to her room. She sends a message to her friend about the mix-up.

Yolanda mendaftar masuk dan naik lift ke kamarnya. Ia mengirim pesan kepada temannya tentang kekeliruan itu.

"Two hotels, same name. Funny city," she writes.

"Dua hotel, nama sama. Kota yang lucu," tulisnya.
