Peter wants to visit his sister in Riverton. He walks to the train station early in the morning.
पीटर रिवरटन में अपनी बहन से मिलने जाना चाहता है। वह सुबह जल्दी पैदल रेलवे स्टेशन पहुँचता है।
He goes to the ticket counter and waits in line. "One ticket to Riverton, please," he says.
वह टिकट काउंटर पर जाता है और क़तार में इंतज़ार करता है। "रिवरटन का एक टिकट दीजिए, कृपया," वह कहता है।
The clerk types on her computer. She prints a ticket and hands it to him.
क्लर्क अपने कंप्यूटर पर टाइप करती है। वह एक टिकट छापकर उसे थमा देती है।
Peter pays for the ticket. He thanks the clerk and walks toward the platform.
पीटर टिकट के पैसे देता है। वह क्लर्क को धन्यवाद कहता है और प्लेटफ़ॉर्म की ओर चल देता है।
He waits for his train. He looks down at the ticket in his hand.
वह अपनी ट्रेन का इंतज़ार करता है। वह अपने हाथ में पकड़े टिकट को देखता है।
Peter stops. The ticket says "Lakeside," not "Riverton." He reads it again, but it still says Lakeside.
पीटर रुक जाता है। टिकट पर "लेकसाइड" लिखा है, "रिवरटन" नहीं। वह उसे फिर से पढ़ता है, पर उस पर अब भी लेकसाइड ही लिखा है।
He walks back to the ticket counter. "Excuse me," he says. "This ticket is wrong."
वह वापस टिकट काउंटर पर जाता है। "माफ़ कीजिए," वह कहता है। "यह टिकट ग़लत है।"
"I asked for a ticket to Riverton," Peter explains. The clerk looks at the ticket.
"मैंने रिवरटन का टिकट माँगा था," पीटर समझाता है। क्लर्क टिकट को देखती है।
"I'm sorry," she says. "I typed the wrong city. Let me print a new one."
"मुझे अफ़सोस है," वह कहती है। "मैंने ग़लत शहर टाइप कर दिया था। मैं नया टिकट छाप देती हूँ।"
She types again and checks the screen twice. Then she prints a new ticket.
वह फिर से टाइप करती है और स्क्रीन को दो बार जाँचती है। फिर वह नया टिकट छापती है।
"Here is your ticket to Riverton," she says. Peter checks it carefully.
"यह रहा आपका रिवरटन का टिकट," वह कहती है। पीटर उसे ध्यान से जाँचता है।
The new ticket says "Riverton" now. Peter smiles and thanks the clerk.
नए टिकट पर अब "रिवरटन" लिखा है। पीटर मुस्कुराता है और क्लर्क को धन्यवाद देता है।
He walks back to the platform. The train to Riverton waits by the platform.
वह वापस प्लेटफ़ॉर्म पर जाता है। रिवरटन जाने वाली ट्रेन प्लेटफ़ॉर्म पर खड़ी इंतज़ार कर रही है।
Peter finds a seat by the window and sits down. He puts the old ticket in the trash can.
पीटर खिड़की के पास एक सीट ढूँढ़कर बैठ जाता है। वह पुराना टिकट कूड़ेदान में डाल देता है।
Then he puts the new ticket safely in his bag. The train doors close, and the train starts to move.
फिर वह नया टिकट अपने बैग में सँभालकर रख लेता है। ट्रेन के दरवाज़े बंद हो जाते हैं और ट्रेन चलने लगती है।
