A sudden wind pushes Jonas and Tara's kayaks off course, so they wait it out on a small island.

Jonas and Tara paddle their kayaks across the calm lake. The morning air is still, and the water looks like glass.
योनास और तारा अपनी कयाकों में शांत झील को पार कर रहे हैं। सुबह की हवा थमी हुई है, और पानी शीशे जैसा दिखता है।
Halfway across, the wind picks up fast. Small waves slap against the kayaks. Tara's kayak turns sideways.
झील के बीच पहुँचते ही हवा अचानक तेज़ हो जाती है। छोटी लहरें कयाकों से टकराने लगती हैं। तारा की कयाक आड़ी घूम जाती है।
"Paddle hard on the left!" Jonas shouts.
"बाईं ओर ज़ोर से चप्पू चलाओ!" योनास चिल्लाता है।
Tara paddles hard, but the wind pushes them off their path. The shore looks small and far away now.
तारा ज़ोर से चप्पू चलाती है, लेकिन हवा उन्हें उनके रास्ते से हटा देती है। अब किनारा छोटा और बहुत दूर दिखाई देता है।
"There's an island ahead," Jonas says. "Let's go there instead."
"आगे एक टापू है," योनास कहता है। "चलो उधर ही चलते हैं।"
They turn their kayaks toward a small island with a few trees. The wind pushes from behind now, and they move quickly.
वे अपनी कयाकों को कुछ पेड़ों वाले एक छोटे टापू की ओर मोड़ते हैं। अब हवा पीछे से धक्का दे रही है, और वे तेज़ी से आगे बढ़ते हैं।
They reach the island and pull their kayaks onto the sand. Tara sits down and breathes hard.

"That wind started very suddenly," she says.

"It happens on this lake," Jonas says. "My uncle told me about it once."

They wait on the island and eat the snacks from their bags. Slowly, the wind grows calm again. The lake turns flat and quiet.

"Ready to try again?" Jonas asks.

Tara nods and pushes her kayak back into the water. They paddle together toward the real shore. This time, the water stays calm the whole way.
तारा सिर हिलाती है और अपनी कयाक को वापस पानी में धकेल देती है। वे साथ-साथ चप्पू चलाते हुए असली किनारे की ओर बढ़ते हैं। इस बार पूरे रास्ते पानी शांत रहता है।
