Enzo loves playing small jokes on his classmates. Layla is his favorite target.
एंज़ो को अपने सहपाठियों के साथ छोटे-छोटे मज़ाक़ करना बहुत पसंद है। लैला उसका सबसे पसंदीदा निशाना है।
On Monday, Enzo hides a rubber spider in Layla's backpack. She screams when she finds it at lunch.
सोमवार को एंज़ो लैला के बैग में एक रबर की मकड़ी छिपा देता है। लंच के समय जब वह उसे देखती है, तो चीख पड़ती है।
"That was a good one," Layla says, laughing. "But I'll get you back."
"यह तो बढ़िया था," लैला हँसते हुए कहती है। "लेकिन मैं तुमसे बदला ज़रूर लूँगी।"
Enzo doesn't believe her. "You never win our joke wars," he says. "You're too nice."
एंज़ो को उसकी बात का यक़ीन नहीं होता। "तुम हमारी मज़ाक़ की जंग कभी नहीं जीतती," वह कहता है। "तुम बहुत सीधी हो।"
Layla just smiles and says nothing. She spends the whole week planning something.
लैला बस मुस्कुराती है और कुछ नहीं कहती। वह पूरा हफ़्ता कुछ न कुछ सोचने में बिता देती है।
On Friday, Enzo opens his locker and something falls out. Hundreds of small paper stars cover the floor.
शुक्रवार को एंज़ो अपना लॉकर खोलता है और उसमें से कुछ गिर पड़ता है। काग़ज़ के सैकड़ों छोटे सितारे पूरे फ़र्श पर बिखर जाते हैं।
"What is this?" he asks, staring at the mess. A note falls out too: "Have a colorful day! — Layla."
"यह क्या है?" वह बिखरे हुए ढेर को घूरते हुए पूछता है। एक नोट भी गिरता है: "तुम्हारा दिन रंगीन हो! — लैला।"
His classmates walk by and laugh at the sight. Enzo picks up star after star and puts them in his bag.
उसके सहपाठी वहाँ से गुज़रते हैं और यह नज़ारा देखकर हँसते हैं। एंज़ो एक-एक सितारा उठाकर अपने बैग में रखता जाता है।
"Okay, that's actually pretty good," he admits. "How long did this take you?"
"ठीक है, यह सच में काफ़ी अच्छा है," वह मान लेता है। "इसमें तुम्हें कितना समय लगा?"
"Three days," Layla says proudly. "I cut every single star myself."
"तीन दिन," लैला गर्व से कहती है। "हर एक सितारा मैंने ख़ुद काटा है।"
Enzo shakes his head and smiles. "Fine, you win this round," he says. "But I'm already planning my next one."
एंज़ो सिर हिलाकर मुस्कुराता है। "ठीक है, यह दौर तुम जीतीं," वह कहता है। "लेकिन मैं अपना अगला मज़ाक़ अभी से सोच रहा हूँ।"
