Every day, Georgia brought her lunch to work in a blue bag. She kept it in the office fridge until noon.
जॉर्जिया हर दिन अपना लंच एक नीले बैग में काम पर लाती थी। वह उसे दोपहर तक ऑफ़िस के फ़्रिज में रखती थी।
On Monday, her lunch was gone. She checked the fridge twice, but the blue bag was not there.
सोमवार को उसका लंच ग़ायब था। उसने फ़्रिज दो बार देखा, पर नीला बैग वहाँ नहीं था।
"Someone took my lunch," she said to her coworker Emeka. "I'm sure I put it in the fridge this morning."
"किसी ने मेरा लंच ले लिया," उसने अपने सहकर्मी एमेका से कहा। "मुझे पक्का याद है कि मैंने आज सुबह उसे फ़्रिज में रखा था।"
Emeka opened the fridge and looked inside. "There's a blue bag here," he said, "but it's not yours. It has a different name on it."
एमेका ने फ़्रिज खोलकर अंदर देखा। "यहाँ एक नीला बैग है," उसने कहा, "पर यह तुम्हारा नहीं है। इस पर कोई और नाम लिखा है।"
Georgia looked again. The bag said "Georgina" in small letters.
जॉर्जिया ने फिर देखा। बैग पर छोटे अक्षरों में "जॉर्जीना" लिखा था।
"That's not my name," she said. "But it looks just like my bag."
"यह मेरा नाम नहीं है," उसने कहा। "पर यह बिल्कुल मेरे बैग जैसा दिखता है।"
On Tuesday, the same thing happened again. Georgia's lunch was gone again. A similar blue bag with the name "Georgina" sat in its place.
मंगलवार को फिर वही हुआ। जॉर्जिया का लंच फिर ग़ायब था। उसकी जगह "जॉर्जीना" नाम वाला वैसा ही एक नीला बैग रखा था।
"There are two blue bags in this office," Emeka said. "You and Georgina both use the same kind."
"इस ऑफ़िस में दो नीले बैग हैं," एमेका ने कहा। "तुम और जॉर्जीना, दोनों एक ही तरह का बैग इस्तेमाल करती हो।"
They found Georgina at a desk across the building. She laughed when she heard the story.
उन्हें जॉर्जीना इमारत के दूसरी तरफ़ एक डेस्क पर मिल गई। पूरी बात सुनकर वह हँस पड़ी।
"I grab the first blue bag I see," Georgina said. "I never check the name."
"मैं जो पहला नीला बैग दिखता है, उठा लेती हूँ," जॉर्जीना ने कहा। "मैं नाम कभी नहीं देखती।"
"Let's write our names in big letters next time," Georgia said.
"अगली बार से हम अपने नाम बड़े अक्षरों में लिखेंगे," जॉर्जिया ने कहा।
From that day, Georgia wrote her name in bright red letters. No lunch ever disappeared again.
उस दिन के बाद जॉर्जिया अपना नाम चटक लाल अक्षरों में लिखने लगी। फिर कभी कोई लंच ग़ायब नहीं हुआ।
