Meeting Her Best Friend

Ezra is going to meet Naomi's best friend today. He feels nervous about it. He wants Dara to like him.

एज़रा आज नाओमी की सबसे अच्छी दोस्त से मिलने वाला है। वह इसे लेकर घबराया हुआ है। वह चाहता है कि डारा को वह पसंद आए।

Naomi tells him not to worry. "Dara is easy to talk to," she says. "Just be yourself."

नाओमी उससे कहती है कि चिंता मत करो। "डारा से बात करना आसान है," वह कहती है। "बस तुम जैसे हो, वैसे ही रहना।"

They arrive at the coffee shop first. Ezra picks a table near the window and orders three coffees.

वे कॉफ़ी शॉप में सबसे पहले पहुँचते हैं। एज़रा खिड़की के पास की एक मेज़ चुनता है और तीन कॉफ़ी मँगवाता है।

Dara walks in a few minutes later. "Hi, you're Ezra, right?" she says with a big smile. "Naomi talks about you all the time."

कुछ मिनट बाद डारा अंदर आती है। "हाय, तुम एज़रा हो ना?" वह बड़ी मुस्कान के साथ कहती है। "नाओमी हर समय तुम्हारी बातें करती रहती है।"

Ezra doesn't know what to say at first. Then he remembers something Naomi told him. "You two went to school together, right?" he asks.

पहले तो एज़रा को समझ नहीं आता कि क्या कहे। फिर उसे नाओमी की बताई एक बात याद आती है। "तुम दोनों साथ पढ़ी थीं, है ना?" वह पूछता है।

Dara's face lights up. "Yes! We were in the same class for six years," she says. She starts telling stories about Naomi as a kid.

डारा का चेहरा खिल उठता है। "हाँ! हम छह साल एक ही क्लास में थे," वह कहती है। वह बचपन की नाओमी के क़िस्से सुनाने लगती है।

Naomi laughs and covers her face. "Please stop," she says, but she smiles too.

नाओमी हँसती है और अपना चेहरा ढक लेती है। "प्लीज़ बंद करो," वह कहती है, पर वह भी मुस्कुरा रही है।

Ezra listens closely and asks other questions. He learns about Naomi's old hobbies and her favorite foods.

एज़रा ध्यान से सुनता है और दूसरे सवाल भी पूछता है। उसे नाओमी के पुराने शौक़ों और उसके पसंदीदा खानों के बारे में पता चलता है।

An hour passes quickly. Dara stands up and grabs her bag. "I have to go now," she says. "But Ezra, you're welcome anytime."

एक घंटा जल्दी बीत जाता है। डारा उठती है और अपना बैग उठा लेती है। "अब मुझे जाना होगा," वह कहती है। "पर एज़रा, तुम जब चाहो, आ सकते हो।"

After Dara leaves, Naomi turns to Ezra. "So? What do you think?" she asks.

डारा के जाने के बाद नाओमी एज़रा की ओर मुड़ती है। "तो? तुम्हें कैसी लगी?" वह पूछती है।

"I like her," Ezra says. "And I think she likes me too." Naomi squeezes his hand under the table.

"मुझे वह अच्छी लगी," एज़रा कहता है। "और मुझे लगता है कि मैं भी उसे पसंद आया।" नाओमी मेज़ के नीचे उसका हाथ दबा देती है।
