Sampul The Wake-Up Call at Five

On the first night, Eudora went to the front desk. "Please call my room at five tomorrow morning," she said. "I have a boat tour at six."

"Tolong telepon kamar saya pukul lima pagi besok," katanya. "Saya ikut tur perahu pukul enam."

The receptionist gave her a small piece of paper. "Please write your room number and the time," she said.

Resepsionis memberinya secarik kertas kecil. "Silakan tulis nomor kamar dan waktunya," katanya.

Eudora wrote, "Room 14, 5 pm." She was very sleepy, and she did not see her mistake.

Eudora menulis, "Kamar 14, pukul 5 sore."

She slept well. In the morning, the sun was high when she woke up. The clock said nine. The boat was gone.

Ia tidur nyenyak. Jam menunjukkan pukul sembilan. Perahunya sudah pergi.

Eudora ran downstairs in her slippers. "Nobody called me!" she said.

The receptionist looked at the paper and then at Eudora. "You wrote five in the afternoon," she said. "We will call you at five this evening."

Resepsionis melihat kertas itu, lalu melihat Eudora. "Anda menulis pukul lima sore," katanya. "Kami akan menelepon Anda pukul lima sore nanti."

Eudora looked at the paper and put her hand on her face. "Is there another tour?" she asked.

"Yes," the woman said. "The evening tour leaves at six. It is the sunset tour. I can put you on it for free."

"Ada," kata wanita itu. "Tur sore berangkat pukul enam. Itu tur matahari terbenam. Saya bisa memasukkan Anda ke dalamnya secara gratis."

At five that afternoon, the phone in her room rang. Eudora sat on the bed with a cup of tea.

"Good afternoon," said a kind voice. "This is your wake-up call."

"Selamat sore," kata suara yang ramah. "Ini panggilan bangun tidur Anda."

"Thank you," said Eudora. "I am already awake."

"Terima kasih," kata Eudora. "Saya sudah bangun."

At six, she sat at the front of the boat. The sun went down behind the hills. The water turned orange and pink. Eudora took thirty photos.

Pukul enam, ia duduk di bagian depan perahu. Matahari terbenam di balik bukit-bukit. Air berubah menjadi jingga dan merah muda. Eudora mengambil tiga puluh foto.
