The Early Bus

Katrin runs to the bus stop every morning at 7:40. Today she leaves home two minutes late.

Katrin berlari ke halte bus setiap pagi pukul 7.40. Hari ini ia berangkat dari rumah terlambat dua menit.

She turns the corner and sees the bus pull away. Katrin stops and watches it disappear down the street.

Ia berbelok di tikungan dan melihat bus itu melaju pergi. Katrin berhenti dan memandangi bus itu menghilang di ujung jalan.

"Not again," she says, out of breath. She checks her phone for the next bus time.

"Aduh, jangan lagi," katanya terengah-engah. Ia memeriksa ponselnya untuk melihat jam bus berikutnya.

The next bus comes in twenty-five minutes. That is too late for her first class. She has an important test today.

Bus berikutnya datang dua puluh lima menit lagi. Itu terlalu terlambat untuk kelas pertamanya. Hari ini ia ada ujian penting.

Katrin thinks for a moment and looks around. The train station is only a few blocks away.

Katrin berpikir sejenak dan melihat sekeliling. Stasiun kereta hanya berjarak beberapa blok dari situ.

She starts walking fast toward the station. She checks the schedule board at the station door.

Ia mulai berjalan cepat menuju stasiun. Ia memeriksa papan jadwal di pintu stasiun.

A train leaves for downtown in six minutes. Katrin buys a ticket and hurries to the platform.

Sebuah kereta berangkat ke pusat kota enam menit lagi. Katrin membeli tiket dan bergegas ke peron.

The train doors open, and she steps inside. She finds a seat and catches her breath.

Pintu kereta terbuka, dan ia melangkah masuk. Ia mendapat tempat duduk dan mengatur napasnya.

The train moves quickly through the city. Katrin reaches her stop close to school.

Kereta itu melaju cepat menembus kota. Katrin sampai di perhentiannya yang dekat dengan sekolah.

She walks the last block and reaches the school gate. The bell rings. She reaches the door at the same moment.

Ia berjalan satu blok terakhir dan sampai di gerbang sekolah. Bel berbunyi. Ia sampai di pintu pada saat yang sama.
