The Name She Forgot at the Party

Rina went to her friend's housewarming party on Saturday. Her friend's new boyfriend stood by the kitchen. Rina met him only once, months ago.

Rina pergi ke pesta syukuran rumah baru temannya pada hari Sabtu. Pacar baru temannya itu berdiri di dekat dapur. Rina baru pernah bertemu dengannya sekali, beberapa bulan lalu.

She walked over with a big smile. "It's very good to see you again, Nico!" she said loudly. The man's face went blank for a second.

Ia menghampirinya dengan senyum lebar. "Senang sekali bertemu lagi denganmu, Nico!" katanya dengan suara keras. Wajah pria itu kosong sesaat.

"Actually, my name is Petros," he said gently. Rina's cheeks turned bright red at once. She covered her mouth with her hand.

"Sebenarnya, nama saya Petros," katanya dengan lembut. Pipi Rina langsung merah padam. Ia menutup mulutnya dengan tangan.

"I am very sorry," Rina said quickly. "I mixed you up with someone else." She felt terrible about her mistake.

"Saya sangat menyesal," kata Rina cepat-cepat. "Saya mengira Anda orang lain." Ia merasa sangat bersalah atas kekeliruannya.

Petros laughed and waved a hand. "It happens all the time," he said. "Nico is my brother. We look alike."

Petros tertawa dan mengibaskan tangan. "Itu sering terjadi," katanya. "Nico itu kakak saya. Kami mirip."

Rina laughed too. The awkward moment passed quickly.

Rina ikut tertawa. Saat canggung itu cepat berlalu.

"Well, Petros, it's nice to meet you properly," Rina said. She held out her hand for a handshake.

"Nah, Petros, senang berkenalan dengan Anda yang sebenarnya," kata Rina. Ia mengulurkan tangannya untuk berjabat tangan.

Petros shook her hand warmly. "I remember names well," he said with a grin. "Let's start over. Hello, Rina."

Petros menjabat tangannya dengan hangat. "Saya ingat nama dengan baik," katanya sambil nyengir. "Mari kita mulai dari awal. Halo, Rina."

For the rest of the party, Rina said his name. She said it often, loud and clear. She introduced him to three other guests correctly. By the end of the night, everyone knew his name.

Sepanjang sisa pesta, Rina menyebut namanya. Ia menyebutnya sering-sering, dengan keras dan jelas. Ia memperkenalkannya kepada tiga tamu lain dengan benar. Menjelang akhir malam, semua orang tahu namanya.

A month later, Rina saw Petros at another party. She said his name first, loud and clear. Petros laughed and gave her a high five.

Sebulan kemudian, Rina bertemu Petros di pesta lain. Ia menyebut namanya lebih dulu, dengan keras dan jelas. Petros tertawa dan mengajaknya tos.
