The Fox and the Grapes

A thirsty fox spots a tempting bunch of grapes just out of reach — and tries again and again before giving up.
One warm summer day, a Fox was walking through an orchard. He came to a bunch of grapes ripening high on a vine.
Pada suatu hari musim panas yang hangat, seekor Rubah berjalan melewati sebuah kebun buah. Ia sampai pada seikat anggur yang sedang matang tinggi di atas rambatannya.
"Just the thing to quench my thirst," he said.
"Pas sekali untuk melepas dahagaku," katanya.
Backing up a few paces, he took a run and a jump at the grapes, but missed. Turning round again, he ran faster and leaped once more. Still he could not reach them.
Setelah mundur beberapa langkah, ia berlari dan melompat ke arah anggur itu, tetapi meleset. Berbalik lagi, ia berlari lebih cepat dan melompat sekali lagi. Namun tetap saja ia tidak bisa meraihnya.
Again and again he tried, but at last he had to give up. He walked away with his nose in the air, saying, "I am sure they are sour anyway."
Berulang kali ia mencoba, tetapi akhirnya ia harus menyerah. Ia pergi dengan hidung terangkat tinggi, sambil berkata, "Aku yakin anggur itu pasti masam."
