The Bike Path That Splits

Deniz and Hana ride their bikes along the river on Saturday morning. The sun is warm and the air feels fresh.

Deniz dan Hana bersepeda menyusuri sungai pada Sabtu pagi. Mataharinya hangat dan udaranya terasa segar.

After twenty minutes, the path splits into two directions. A sign shows two arrows.

Setelah dua puluh menit, jalur itu bercabang menjadi dua arah. Sebuah papan menunjukkan dua tanda panah.

One arrow points along the flat river path. The other points up into the hills.

Satu panah menunjuk ke jalur sungai yang datar. Yang lain menunjuk naik ke perbukitan.

"The river path is long, but it's flat and easy," Hana says.

"Jalur sungai memang panjang, tapi datar dan mudah," kata Hana.

"The hill path is short," Deniz says, "but it looks steep."

"Jalur bukit pendek," kata Deniz, "tapi kelihatannya curam."

They stop and look at both paths for a minute. Hana checks the time on her phone.

Mereka berhenti dan memandangi kedua jalur itu sebentar. Hana melihat jam di ponselnya.

"Let's try the hills," Hana says. "We have time, and I want to see the view."

"Ayo coba yang ke bukit," kata Hana. "Kita punya waktu, dan aku ingin melihat pemandangannya."

Deniz agrees, and they turn onto the hill path together. The road climbs quickly between the trees.

Deniz setuju, dan mereka berbelok ke jalur bukit bersama-sama. Jalan itu menanjak cepat di antara pepohonan.

Their legs get tired, but they keep going. After ten minutes, they reach the top of the hill.

Kaki mereka mulai lelah, tetapi mereka terus melaju. Setelah sepuluh menit, mereka sampai di puncak bukit.

Below them, the whole valley spreads out. The river looks like a thin blue line.

Di bawah mereka, seluruh lembah terhampar. Sungai tampak seperti garis biru tipis.

"This is worth it," Deniz says.

"Ini sepadan," kata Deniz.

Hana takes a photo of the view. They sit on a rock and share their water bottle.

Hana memotret pemandangan itu. Mereka duduk di atas batu dan berbagi botol air.
