The Paper Map of the Old Town

When his phone dies in an unfamiliar old town, Franco relies on a paper map from his hotel to find his way back.
Franco walked into the old town to see the sights. He followed a map on his phone at first. Halfway through the old streets, his phone died. The screen went black in his hand. Franco looked around at the narrow, winding streets. Every street looked the same to him. He did not know the way back to his hotel. Franco remembered the paper map from his hotel desk. He pulled it out of his jacket pocket. The little map showed every street by name. He found the town square on the paper map. His hotel sat two streets past the square. Franco folded the map and started walking again. He passed a bakery with bread in the window. He passed a fountain with three stone birds. Soon the hotel sign appeared just ahead. Franco walked inside and asked for his phone charger. The clerk lent him one from behind the desk. Franco sat in the lobby and let his phone charge. He kept the paper map folded in his pocket.
