A Surprise for Noah

Noah runs a simple errand for his mom on an ordinary Saturday and comes home to a birthday party he never expected.
It is a normal Saturday for Noah. He wakes up and makes his bed. He walks downstairs for breakfast.
The kitchen is quiet, and nobody is there. His mom left a short note on the table. "Please buy milk from the store," it says.
Noah puts on his shoes and walks to the store. He picks a carton of milk and pays for it. Then he walks back home.
At home, the front door is unlocked, but the lights are off. Noah opens the door slowly and steps inside.
"Surprise!" everyone shouts at once.
His family and friends stand in the living room. There are balloons, a big cake, and a banner on the wall. His best friend Caleb holds a small gift box.
"Happy birthday, Noah!" Caleb says, and he laughs. "We planned this for two weeks!"
Noah looks around the room. He sees his cousins, his neighbors, and his teacher from school. Everyone is smiling and clapping.
"I didn't know about any of this," Noah says. He puts down the milk and walks toward the cake.
"Make a wish," his mom says, "and blow out the candles."
Noah leans over the cake and blows out all the candles. Everyone claps and cheers loudly.
"Now let's cut the cake," Noah says, picking up the knife.
