It is Maya's first day at a new school. She has a map and a class schedule. Her friend Theo goes to the same school.
今天是玛雅在新学校的第一天。她有一张地图和一份课程表。她的朋友西奥也在同一所学校上学。
Before class, Maya sends Theo a text. "Let's meet at the science room," she writes. Theo replies, "Okay, see you there!"
上课前，玛雅给西奥发了一条短信。“我们在科学教室见面吧，”她写道。西奥回复：“好的，那儿见！”
Maya walks to the science room in the old building. She waits by the door, but Theo does not come. She checks her phone. No new messages.
玛雅走到旧楼里的科学教室，在门口等着，可西奥没有来。她看了看手机，没有新消息。
Theo is waiting too, but in a different room. The school has two science rooms. One room is old, and one is new. Theo is standing outside the new room.
西奥也在等，不过是在另一个教室。这所学校有两间科学教室，一间旧的，一间新的。西奥正站在新教室外面。
After ten minutes, Maya starts to worry. She walks around the school to look for Theo. She checks the library, the gym, and the hallway near the office.
十分钟后，玛雅开始担心了。她绕着学校去找西奥。她查看了图书馆、体育馆，还有办公室附近的走廊。
Finally, she sees a boy near the new building. It is Theo! He waves and runs toward her.
终于，她在新楼附近看到了一个男孩。是西奥！他挥着手，向她跑过来。
"I was waiting in the wrong room," Theo says. "There are two science rooms here."
“我在错的教室等你，”西奥说，“这儿有两间科学教室。”
"Me too!" Maya says, and they both laugh. "Next time, let's use room numbers instead."
“我也是！”玛雅说，两个人都笑了。“下次我们用教室号码吧。”
They walk into their first class together, just in time. The teacher smiles and points to two empty seats near the window.
他们一起走进了第一节课的教室，刚好赶上。老师笑着指了指靠窗的两个空座位。
"Welcome," the teacher says. "Please sit down and open your books."
“欢迎你们，”老师说，“请坐下，把书打开。”
Maya and Theo sit down together and open their new books.
玛雅和西奥并排坐下，打开了他们的新书。
