A hungry wolf disguises himself in a sheepskin to sneak past the shepherd's watch and prey on the flock — but the disguise ends up costing him dearly.
A Wolf found great difficulty in getting at the sheep, for the shepherd and his dogs watched them closely.
一只狼很难靠近羊群，因为牧羊人和他的狗一直严密地看守着它们。
But one day the Wolf found the skin of a sheep that had been thrown aside. He put it on over his own coat, and strolled down among the flock.
可是有一天，狼发现了一张被丢在一旁的羊皮。它把羊皮披在自己身上，大摇大摆地走进了羊群之中。
A lamb soon began to follow the Wolf, thinking it was its mother. So, leading the lamb a little apart from the others, the Wolf made a fine meal of her.
很快，一只小羊羔就跟在狼的身后，以为那是自己的妈妈。于是狼把小羊羔引到离羊群稍远的地方，美美地饱餐了一顿。
For some time he went on deceiving the sheep and enjoying good meals.
就这样，狼持续了一段时间，一边欺骗着羊群，一边享用着美餐。
But one evening the shepherd, wanting a bit of mutton for his supper, happened to pick the very animal in whose skin the Wolf was hiding. And that was the end of the Wolf.
可是有一天晚上，牧羊人想吃点羊肉当晚餐，恰好挑中了那只披着羊皮的狼所伪装的“羊”。于是狼的末日也就到了。
