Choosing a Birthday Cake Flavor

Wesley wanted to buy a cake for Brooke's birthday. Brooke was his best friend at school. Her party was the next afternoon. Wesley went to the bakery with his sister Greta. The bakery had many cakes in the window.

Wesley ingin membeli kue untuk ulang tahun Brooke. Brooke adalah sahabatnya di sekolah. Pestanya diadakan keesokan siangnya. Wesley pergi ke toko roti bersama kakak perempuannya, Greta. Toko roti itu memajang banyak kue di etalasenya.

Two cakes looked perfect for the party. One cake was chocolate with pink flowers. The other cake was lemon with white frosting. Wesley liked chocolate cake very much. Brooke loved lemon cake even more.

Dua kue tampak sempurna untuk pesta. Satu kue cokelat dengan bunga-bunga merah muda. Kue yang lain rasa lemon dengan krim putih. Wesley sangat suka kue cokelat. Brooke lebih suka lagi kue lemon.

"Which one do we pick?" Greta asked. Wesley thought about his friend Brooke. "Brooke always orders lemon cake at restaurants," he said. "Then lemon is a good choice," Greta said. Wesley still looked at the chocolate cake.

"Kita pilih yang mana?" tanya Greta. Wesley memikirkan temannya, Brooke. "Di restoran Brooke selalu memesan kue lemon," katanya. "Kalau begitu lemon pilihan yang bagus," kata Greta. Wesley masih memandangi kue cokelat itu.

He wanted to try something new too. Then he had an idea. "Can we buy two small cakes?" he asked the baker. The baker smiled and nodded her head. "Of course. Small cakes are easy to make," she said.

Ia juga ingin mencoba sesuatu yang baru. Lalu ia mendapat ide. "Bisakah kami membeli dua kue kecil?" tanyanya kepada tukang roti. Tukang roti itu tersenyum dan mengangguk. "Tentu. Kue kecil mudah dibuat," katanya.

Wesley paid for both small cakes. He carried the box home carefully. The next day, he brought both cakes to the party. Brooke opened the box and gasped. "Two flavors? Now I don't have to choose!" she said. Everyone laughed and had a slice of each cake.

Wesley membayar kedua kue kecil itu. Ia membawa kotaknya pulang dengan hati-hati. Keesokan harinya, ia membawa kedua kue itu ke pesta. Brooke membuka kotak itu dan terkesiap. "Dua rasa? Sekarang aku tidak perlu memilih!" katanya. Semua orang tertawa dan mengambil sepotong dari masing-masing kue.
